Take it to the Street is a study in New Orleans Street Beats and Second-Line Rhythms as applied to funk. This book is very well put together and the companion CD is GREAT! I recommend this book to every drummer. The feel of second line drumming is one that that if studied, will improve ALL other styles. Stanton’s touch and approach to the music is masterful and should be emulated by all drummers. It’s not just about “beatin’ the skins”, it’s about bringing out the music. Two big thumbs up!
